There is a quiet kind of magic in simply stopping.
Not hiking. Not searching. Just being.
In Nature Connection circles, we call this practise the Sit Spot. A chosen place where you return again & again, not to do anything but to quietly belong.
It doesn't need to be grand. A mossy log, a favourite tree, a riverside rock. Even a corner of a garden or a park.
Grandeur doesn't matter - the intention to pause does.
When we sit in stillness, the world comes into focus.
At first, the mind chatters.
To-do lists. Plans. Thoughts of elsewhere.
Then something shifts.
You begin to notice.
The breeze on your skin.
The shimmering of the leaves.
The sun dappled canopy.
A curious robin.
Bird calls in the shrubbery.
A busy squirrel.
Maybe...a woodpecker drumming in the distance.
Your heightened senses tune you to the landscape...it's hardwired into your DNA. Thousands of years of human evolution, deeply in sync with the natural rhythms of life. When we sit still often enough, we begin to remember. The mindful chatter dissipates and we begin to 'be'...not just as an observer of nature but as part of it too!
BENEFITS

* A sense of belonging
*A renewed life appreciation
* Self Conviction
* Peace
CREATING YOUR SIT-SPOT
1) Choose your place (let your intuition guide you)
2) Return regularly. Once a week is good but more if possible. Consistency is good.
3) Sit still. 10-20 minutes is good. Longer if you feel called to.
4) Be curious, not expectant. You're not waiting for anything to happen. Just be present.
5) Leave a little something behind. A whisper of gratitude. An appreciative nod. A gift you've found (bird feather, acorn, pine cone etc)
INVITATION
Find your spot.
Sit. Breathe. Listen.
Remember who you are.
Stay Wild
